Solitare.

Today as i was checking through the songs i had in my computer, i stumbled across this folder that kept a few oldies. There were songs from The Beatles, Abba and The Carpenters. Being a big fan of The Carpenters i listened to the whole of that album. And of course there were my familiar favourites Yesterday Once More, Please Mr Postman, and my all time favourite. Rainy Days And Mondays. As all the other songs were playing, i heard one song that i've heard before but i never really pain attention to it, and somehow this time round listening to it. I found that the lyrics were quite deep and well to put it short the song was really great. Its called Solitaire. There was one part that really, for some strange reason, that struck me the most.

"A heart that cared
That went unshared
Until it died
Within his silence"

Another great song that i never really paid attention to and that had a verse that struck me was I Need To Be In Love.

"I used to say "No promises, let's keep it simple"
But freedom only helps you say
Good-bye
It took a while for me to learn
That nothin' comes for free
The price I've paid is high enough for me"

Now, i know these are emo songs as ppl call it. But really just take time to read the lyrics. The Carpenter's songs are all nice to listen to anytime from a happy day or even a rainy day or a monday ;P

p.s. Imy Crover <3

Solitaire
There was a man
A lonely man
Who lost his love
Through his indifference

A heart that cared
That went unshared
Until it died
Within his silence

And solitaire's the only game in town
And every road that takes him
Takes him down
And by himself it's easy to pretend
He'll never love again

And keeping to himself
He plays the game
Without her love
It always ends the same
While life goes on around him everywhere
He's playing solitaire

A little hope
Goes up in smoke
Just how it kills
Goes without saying

There was a man
A lonely man
Who would command
The hand he's playing

I Need To Be In Love
The hardest thing I've ever done
Is keep believing
There's someone in this crazy world
For me
The way that people come and go
Thru temporary lives
My chance could come and I might never know

I used to say "No promises, let's keep it simple"
But freedom only helps you say
Good-bye
It took a while for me to learn
That nothin' comes for free
The price I've paid is high enough for me

I know I need to be in love
I know I've wasted too much time
I know I ask perfection of
A quite imperfect world
And fool enough to think that's
What I'll find

So here I am with pockets full
Of good intentions
But none of them will comfort me
Tonight
I'm wide awake at four a.m.
Without a friend in sight
Hanging on a hope but I'm alright
